Like many other students during the last year of University, the thought of interviews for traineeships brought me out in a cold sweat. However, as soon as I stepped through the doors of Aberdein Considine, it was by far the most welcoming firm I had encountered, which really surprised me given its size. The initial interview was very relaxed and I got the impression that they were genuinely trying to get to know me as a person.
Aberdein Considine operates an ‘open door policy’, which as a First Year Trainee is something that I am very grateful for. Whether a Partner, Associate, Secretary or a fellow Trainee, everyone is happy to lend a hand, whether it is advice on a particular subject, or to help point you in the right direction, you never feel like you are on your own.
Due to the diverse nature of Aberdein Considine, trainees are given the opportunity to deal with many different aspects of the law. Through research and working within the many Departments, Trainees are offered great variety in their workload. The balance between work and social life is of great importance to the Firm; as such, it encourages its staff to take part in the many social events that have been organised by the Firm’s Social Committee. This in turn creates a healthy working environment and encourages a strong team spirit throughout all levels of the Firm.
