Here's what some of our current and former Trainees have to say about their time at Aberdein Considine.
Catriona Milne, Trainee Solicitor
I secured my Traineeship with Aberdein Considine in January 2010, to start in May 2011. Soon afterwards, I was offered an opportunity to work as a Summer Student in the Family Department in the summer of 2010. I was immediately made to feel welcome and thoroughly enjoyed my summer there. I also got to know many colleagues which made the prospect of starting my Traineeship in May much less daunting!...read more »

When I started my Traineeship with the Firm in September 2007 I had very little experience of working in a legal office and was very nervous! However, all staff within the Firm were so friendly and helpful that it was very easy to settle in quickly. The great thing about the Firm is that while you work mainly with a relatively small group of people within your office you have the benefit of being able to access many other Solicitors, Trainees, Paralegals and Financial Advisers throughout the branch network that you can approach for help; you are never in a position where there is no-one who can help if you have a question....read more »
Kayleigh Massie, Trainee Solicitor
I started my Traineeship with the Firm in May 2011 working between the Stonehaven and Banchory branches where I was involved in Conveyancing transactions. Although I was nervous on my first day, having worked in the Firm's Aboyne office as a Summer Student for several years whilst at University, certainly helped with the nerves as I knew the people that I would be working with....read more »
Mairi Kennedy, Solicitor
My first experience of the Firm came as I stepped through the doors for my Traineeship interview. Though initially apprehensive, I soon overcame my nerves and was made to feel at ease. Both interviewers made me feel comfortable and I got the impression that they seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a person. Being a real full service Firm, and being able to obtain such diverse training, really appealed to me....read more »
Ryan McKay, Partner
I commenced my Traineeship in May 2006 within the Firm's Lender Services Department, dealing primarily with contentious secured recovery actions on behalf of our lender clients. During the early stages of my Traineeship, I developed a real interest in Litigation and as a result, my Traineeship was spent working exclusively in our various Litigation based departments....read more »
Our recruitment process takes place approximately eighteen months before the anticipated commencement date of the Traineeship. Our Traineeships usually start in May (yes, we are keen).
As a continually expanding firm we do sometimes require to recruit additional Trainees at any given time, speculative applications throughout the year will also therefore be considered.
