Associate/ Senior Associate

We are seeking an experienced Debt and Asset Recovery Litigation Solicitor to join our busy Newcastle office. The department specialises in delivering high‑quality legal services to some of the largest and most innovative names in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of unsecured debt recovery matters, providing strategic legal advice and delivering effective and efficient case management for a range of financial institution clients

This role requires a commercially minded solicitor who can achieve timely and pragmatic resolutions through litigation, negotiation, and enforcement, while proactively safeguarding client interests

In addition, the solicitor will play a key role in supporting and mentoring junior team members, contributing to the ongoing growth, development, and succession planning of the team

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 5+ years’ PQE
• Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
• Proven litigation and debt recovery experience
• Strong understanding of unsecured debt recovery processes
• Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload efficiently and effectively
• Experience mentoring and supporting junior fee‑earners
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
• Demonstrable commercial awareness and a client‑focused approach
• Proficiency in case management systems and legal research tools
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Desirable

• Experience working with financial institutions or lenders.
• Knowledge of enforcement procedures and insolvency processes.
