Position Type: Full-time/Permanent

Aberdein Considine are looking for a dynamic and driven Solicitor to join our Corporate Department in either our Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. The successful candidate will develop a client base through providing good service to new clients to the Firm and by introducing personal and or business connections to the Firm. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior colleagues with a wide variety of transactions and matters including M&A and corporate work, commercial contracts and general ongoing legal advice to businesses, owners, investors and management teams
  • Assisting in reviewing, drafting and reporting on a variety of legal documents (with partner-led guidance and supervision as appropriate)
  • Assisting in corporate transactions including dataroom set-up, undertaking / responding to due diligence enquiries and undertaking / reviewing disclosure aspects of a transaction, preparing and negotiating ancillary documents, managing documents checklists and assisting with completion meetings and completion process
  • Attending to client communications, by meeting, email, phone and video conferencing
  • Undertaking legal research to support transactions and projects
  • Preparing reports and advice notes to clients on company and business law and on the terms of legal documents or proposed transactions
  • Assisting with company secretarial matters
  • Promoting the Department and the Firm through Business Development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws – LL.B Scots Law & Diploma in Legal Practice

Skills and Experience

  • NQ – ideally some post qualification experience in a Corporate Department

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience of company law and corporate transactions
  • Commercial and business awareness
