Mortgage Telephone Consultant
Position Type: Full-time/Permanent
Role of the Department
- Managing inbound and outbound calls, and online enquiries from new and existing clients of Aberdein Considine, who require whole of market mortgage advice.
- Qualifying clients by gathering relevant information to be able to assess clients’ ability to secure a mortgage and book clients in for an appointment with an adviser.
- Nurture clients who are the initial stages of their mortgage journey and manage through to an appointment with an adviser.
Job Purpose
- Generate and qualify mortgage and protection appointments for advisers.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling all inbound mortgage and protection related enquiries
- Qualifying mortgage and protection appointments
- Generating mortgage appointments from outbound calls to existing clients
- Liaising with key stakeholders in the business, including mortgage advisers, property staff and senior managers
- Creation and updating of accurate MI to evidence performance and drive improvements.
- Accurate data entry and updating of CRM system.
- Requesting and analysing credit files from clients with credit issues
- Identifying opportunities for referrals to other areas of the Firm e.g. legal, estate agency, investment needs
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Confident communicator with experience of telephone sales
- Well organised with an attention to detail
- Driven, self-motivated with an ability and desire to work autonomously.
- Sales orientated with an ability to spot opportunities.
- Strong written communication
- Numerate and comfortable with basic calculations
- IT literate – good knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
Desirable
- Basic understanding of mortgages and protection – not essential as full training will be given.
- Experience of building relationships over the telephone
- Desire to progress career within Financial Services
