Paralegal

Paralegal - Edinburgh or Glasgow

Position Type: Part-time/Permanent

Aberdein Considine are looking for a Paralegal to join our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. The role will involve providing paralegal support to the employment team across three offices. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters while carrying out on-boarding processes and handling AML requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboarding, preparing LoE and ToB, complete AML requirements
  • Take initial instructions/information from clients, arrange time for MM or other team member to contact
  • Draft legal documents: ET1s, ET3s, witness statements, schedules of loss.
  • Drafting settlement agreements
  • Submitting claims to ET
  • Support non-contentious work: employment contracts, consultancy agreements, staff handbooks
  • Contribute to marketing and business development – drafting and supporting at events
  • Stay updated on employment law developments and share insights with the team
  • Assist with creating style bank

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

· Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.

 

· Paralegal certification or relevant employment law training  

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  •     Previous experience in a legal setting preferable, not necessarily employment law

  •     Familiarity with tribunal processes and legal documentation would be helpful but again not necessary.

 

KNOWLEDGE 

Essential

  • knowledge of working in a legal environment

  • knowledge of UK employment law and practice would be helpful but not essential
