Solicitor - Corporate Conveyancing (Aberdeen)

Aberdein Considine are looking for a dynamic and driven Solicitor to join our Corporate Conveyancing Department in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will perform all legal duties relating to the repossession sale and asset management of corporate properties within Corporate Conveyancing Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • All aspects of the conveyancing and asset management process on behalf of our clients
  • Ensure all relevant processes are followed up in a timely manner in line with client service levels
  • Update client queries and provide updates/advice in a professional and efficient manner whether this is via email or via the telephone
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in line with internal and client, SLA’s
  • Update external third-party companies, agents or other representing parties as and when required
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, demonstrating good customer service when dealing with Inbound and Outbound calls with customers, clients and Third Parties.
  •  Maintaining Internal and client SLA’s,
  • Complete compliance modules and when assigned to ensure up to date knowledge of regulation and code of conduct
  •  Treat all customers fairly, professionally and within legislation
  •  Record customer complaints where identified with the relevant information and in line with the complaints procedure.
  •  Follow all internal processes and procedures
  • Issue Offers of Sale and conclude missives for all private and corporate clients within the department 
  • Examination of title for properties and the preparation of reports on title   on title for all clients
  • Case ownership of any complex files
  • Co-ordination and management of client specific requests and projects
  • Taking instructions from and updating Asset Managers on case progress
  • Non standard VREC enquiries - the definition of “non standard” being investigations and advice requested by the client or supplier charged at an hourly or fixed fee to assist or provide commentary in the rectification of a legal issue or observation
  • Non standard RECO requests - the definition of “non standard” being investigations and advice requested by the client or supplier charged at an hourly or fixed fee to assist or provide commentary in the rectification of a legal issue or observation
  • Checking and signing certificates of title for all clients
  • Signing dispositions for all clients under their Power of Attorney
  • Carrying out review and audit calls and meetings with clients for both repossession conveyancing and asset management clients and third parties
  • Reviewing all missives, auction packs and feeing up carried out by the team
  • Handling complex calls with customers, clients and third parties
  • Dealing with title queries from other conveyancers/solicitors in the firm regarding corporate conveyancing matters
  • Title Rectification and Reconstruction for clients for possible professional negligence claims
  • Corrective conveyancing for clients
  • Ensure LSPG Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times

Qualifications

  • Qualified as a solicitor in Scotland

Skills and Experience

  •  Previous Private and Corporate Conveyancing experience
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft office packages
  • Experience of working within a conveyancing environment and providing advice and recommendations to clients on corrective conveyancing processes
  •  Previous experience of working with a case management system
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Ability to work well within a team and on their own initiative
  • Enthusiastic – can do, will do approach
  • Passionate about the delivery of exceptional customer service and the need to treat customers fairly
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the judgement to make evidence-based decisions
  • Experience of data analysis

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of private client and corporate client conveyancing general procedures - legal reports, title review and corrective conveyancing
