Aberdein Considine are looking for a Lead Compliance Officer to assist the firm’s Compliance Partner with oversight and compliance of all aspects of the firm’s responsibility under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and other relevant legislation including the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

This is a part time position working 25 hours per week and can be based in either Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The successful candidate will ensure adherence to the firm’s policies and procedures by carrying out case compliance reviews and internal audits. They will also ensure adherence to regulators’ guidelines and monitor regulators’ requirements by keeping abreast of developments and / or changes.


  • Ensure the firm is managing its regulatory and compliance requirements effectively
  • Manage and oversee the firm’s compliance and regulatory processes and procedures
  • Work with the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) committee to drive continuous improvement throughout the firm
  • Initiate and promote improvements to processes and procedures relating to managing GRC
  • Ensure that the appropriate policies and procedures are in place to assess and evidence GRC
  • Manage the engagement with regulatory bodies
  • Awareness of relevant legislation, procedures and processes
  • Strong focus on results-led management
  • Change management experience, correspondence reviews; a review of the use of standard and none standard letters
  • Provide evidence of adherence to the firm’s policies and procedures
  • Oversee the monthly internal audit functions, including file checks, of all operational activities
  • Ensure that each employee is aware of the importance of compliance and respects and contributes to its implementation
  • Ensure all staff complete mandatory regulatory training and / or awareness
  • Prepare Compliance Reports to present to stakeholders
  • Review and implement training and awareness, policies and procedures to ensure that all departments and branches are compliant with client and regulatory requirements
  • Track regulatory requirements that may or might affect the firm’s policies and procedures




  • HND Business Administration
  • Business Management Degree

  • Full and current UK drivers licence
