Position type: Full time / Permanent

We require Paralegals to join our busy Corporate Conveyancing Team within our Corporate Property Services department. The role will be based in Aberdeen city centre and the successful candidates will benefit from a challenging and rewarding work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of remortgage cases from instruction and managing through to completion and registration on behalf of our lender clients
  • Taking responsibility of own case load and managing from start to finish. To include, opening the case on case management system, preparing legal documents for issue, drafting cash statements, reviewing returned documents from customers, ordering redemption statements and co-ordinating completion of the case
  • Liaising with customers and where appropriate, mortgage introducers, to provide assistance and updates on cases
  • Reviewing all incoming mail relating to the transaction – to include all correspondence received from any appointed third party solicitors
  • Ensuring customers have an efficient, problem free journey through their remortgage transaction
  • Returning voicemails and emails within client SLA guidelines
  • Administration duties where appropriate – scanning, filing, receiving voicemails and distributing them
  • Saving Register of Scotland Acknowledgements and updated title sheets to case history from the team mailbox
  • Clarifying and investigating, where appropriate any queries on title
  • Ascertaining whether the transaction requires any additional works (transfer of equity, first registration, deed of postponement) and ensuring this is identified on the case management system and assigned to an appropriate case handler
  • Ensuring the registration of a first ranking charge over the Property in favour of the lender in remortgage transactions
  • Where a complaint is made in relation to a case assisting with providing the Compliance Team with a full review of the case to allow a response to be drafted to the party making the complaint
  • Ensuring LSPG processes and procedures are adhered to at all times

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable

  • HND in Legal Services or a BA in Law and Management would be advantageous

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Desirable

  •   Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working and managing own conveyancing case load for would be advantageous
