Position Type: Full Time / Permanent

Dynamic, driven, enthusiastic and ambitious Residential Conveyancing Solicitor required to join and help grow our conveyancing department in one of the UK's fastest growing law firms.  The ideal candidate will be NQ to 4 years PQE with a preferred background in residential conveyancing and will act for clients in the legal aspects of sale and purchase transactions, re-mortgages and transfer of title.

The ideal candidate will meet with clients who are intending to purchase a property and discuss the process of the intended transaction.  Thereafter submitting offers for properties on their behalf and concluding missives for the purchase.  Taking responsibility for the examination of the title to the purchase property and advising clients on the legal implications of any issues arising.  Meet with client who are intending to sell their property or whose property is coming on to the market and discuss the process of the intended transaction.  Thereafter concluding missives for the sale of the clients property.  Dealing with the conveyancing involved in the sale and purchase of property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicating with clients and taking their instructions
  • Providing legal advice to clients where appropriate
  • Liaising with third parties such as other solicitors and banks
  • Drafting legal documentation
  • Concluding missives for sale and purchase transactions
  • Undertaking the conveyancing for sale and purchase transactions

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Qualified to practice law in Scotland
  • 2:1 or First LLB
  • Diploma in Professional Legal Practice

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience in property / conveyancing
  • Experience in holding client meetings
  • A good legal knowledge and the ability to apply it as appropriate
  • Ability to manage a high volume work load

KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Property and Conveyancing knowledge
