Aberdein Considine are looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our busy Corporate Property Services Department. This role will involve performing all conveyancing duties relating to the remortgage properties within the Corporate Conveyancing team.  The successful individual will be required to ensure that customers have an efficient, problem free journey through their remortgage transaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening cases from instruction
  • Handling a restricted case load to a standard that conforms to the SLA
  • Taking responsibility of restricted case load and completing from start to finish - ordering redemption statements and chasing; drafting documents and sending to customers for signature, organising the settlement of a case, preparing and submitting the registration of the standard security and discharge and drafting cash statement
  • Liaising with customers and brokers where appropriate to provide assistance and updates on case
  • Returning voicemails and emails within SLA guidelines
  • Overall oversight of the lender team, responsible for meeting targets for completions and monitoring volumes.
  • Escalating any issues to Corporate Property Services Director, or, where necessary the Partner in Charge
  • Ensuring relevant training for members of the lender team is provided.
  • Administration duties – scanning, filing, receiving voicemails and distributing them
  • Saving Keeper’s Acknowledgements and updated title sheets to case history from the team mailbox
  • Clarifying and investigating, where appropriate any queries on title and confirming instructions on whether a case is non-standard
  • Co-ordinating and executing training to all team members
  • Where a complaint is made in relation to a case within designated lender team providing the Corporate Property Services Director with a full review of the case to allow a response to be drafted to the party making the complaint
  • Processing completions and checking documents are correct and accurate at settlement for the other lender team in the Department
  • Signing off and distributing all mail received within the department to relevant lender teams
  • Checking all team shortfall calculations before sending to customers for payment
  • Assessing each individual lender team’s workload and distributing accordingly between team members




  • HND in Legal Services or a BA in Law and Management would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of working within a conveyancing environments with practical experience carrying out purchase, sale and remortgage transactions would be desirable
  • Knowledge of the legal process and requirements in residential conveyancing transactions
