Ruth is the Partner-in-Charge of our highly-regarded and dynamic Family Law team. She has specialised exclusively in Family Law for over 18-years and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland both as a Specialist in Family Law and as a Family Law Mediator.
Ruth, who is also a qualified Collaborative Lawyer, is recognised in the Legal 500 as a leading individual in her field, with commentary including that she is "very trustworthy, professional and sympathetic" and is "able to approach difficult matters with empathy and understanding while using extensive knowledge and experience to achieve as good a solution as possible".
Ruth has extensive knowledge spanning all areas of Family Law but has particular expertise in dealing with high-net worth cases, often involving business interests. Ruth is respected for her sensible and child-focussed approach to cases.
April is a Partner in Aberdein Considine's Legal 500-recommended Family Law team, based in Glasgow and Stirling.
She has been a lawyer in Glasgow since 2001 dealing with general litigation, specialising in personal relationship and family law.
She specialises in a range of legal matters affecting personal and family relationships, from marriage and partnership issues, as well as executry disputes, guardianship and intervention orders.
April completed her Masters in International Law in 2016 and joined the firm as a partner in September 2017, having previously been a senior associate at Jeffrey Aitken in Glasgow.
Naeema is a Partner in the Family Law team of Aberdein Considine.
She is a Law Society accredited specialist in her field with wide ranging experience of dealing with all matters relating to family law. She is a trained collaborative lawyer as well as a Law Society accredited mediator.
Prior to joining private practice Naeema trained with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and served as a PF Depute for a number of years. Naeema is also a trustee of Family Mediation Lothian's and a founding member of the Scottish Ethnic Minorities Lawyers’ Association (SEMLA).
Isabelle is a Partner in the Family Law team in Aberdeen.
She focuses on all areas, including divorce, financial issues arising from separation and child related matters. She also regularly advises clients who are contemplating cohabitation and marriage on how to best protect their assets.
She is a member of the Scottish Family Law Association, Aberdeen Bar Association, Scottish Collaborative Family Law Group and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Isabelle trained with Aberdein Considine, qualifying in 2009. She became a Partner in 2016 and is recommended by the Legal 500 guide.
Karl has practised as a solicitor in the Granite City since qualifying in 1991 and was a founding Partner of Aberdeen legal business Murray & Brown prior to joining Aberdein Considine in 2017.
Karl is a member of the Scottish Family Law Association and the Aberdeen Bar Association and primarily deals with a mixed case load of matrimonial and family law cases. He also has extensive experience in dealing with all child-related matters.
Leah graduated from The University of Aberdeen in 2007 and commenced her traineeship in 2008 with a firm based in the central belt. She practiced there for three years before joining Aberdein Considine 2011.
Throughout her traineeship and since qualifying, Leah has practiced exclusively in Family Law. She has extensive experience in advising clients on a range of family law matters, with a particular interest in child related matters.
Leah is a trained collaborative lawyer and is a member of the Family Law Association of Scotland, Consensus and the Aberdeen Bar Association. She is also a Notary Public.
Kate is a Solicitor and Notary Public in Aberdein Considine’s Legal 500-recommended Family Law department.
She has experience in acting for clients in separations, divorces and child residence / contact cases and regularly appears in sheriff courts throughout north-east Scotland. Kate also assists family law clients in residential conveyancing transactions and private client work. She is a member of the Aberdeen Bar Association.
Kate joined the firm in 2013 as a summer student before obtaining a traineeship in May 2015 and qualifying in June 2017.
