Companies given more time to file accounts

The Government has announced an extension of up to three months for companies due to file accounts thus avoiding penalties which would normally apply. 

From 25 March businesses can apply using a fast-track online system and those citing Covid-19 as reason for the extension will be automatically and immediately granted the extension.

It is hoped this will allow many businesses to focus on the urgent and crucial challenges posed by Covid-19 without being concerned about late filing penalties which would normally apply.

The request for an extension must be submitted prior to the due date to avoid penalties automatically being applied.
