HAPPY childhood memories of living in Banchory prompted Stuart Moffat to choose it as a base for is own family.

He and wife Jenny decided the Deeside town would be an ideal place to raise their son, Oscar, 6, when they moved from Aberdeen.

Marine technician, Stuart, 44, who works for Wood Group, said: “I was very familiar with the area, and Jenny and I decided to move here as we were also getting so much more for our money.”

Stuart and Jenny, 41, a part-time supermarket assistant, moved in to their new-build townhouse five years ago.

Although the house was ready to walk into, practical Stuart decided the outdoors was in need of attention.

“We had the rear garden landscaped and also the driveway widened for two cars,” said model trains enthusiast Stuart.

“We have loved our time here, and living in a house that is so light and airy has really been great.”

The accommodation at the Moffats’ house is set out on three floors, not including the floored loft – where Stuart keeps his train set.

With the exception of a splash of colour in the lounge, little Oscar’s ‘study’, and Stuart’s work room, the rest of the property has been kept neutral.

The accommodation comprises a dining kitchen and toilet on the ground floor; lounge, two bedrooms and family bathroom on the first floor; and the master bedroom and en-suite and another bedroom on the second floor.

With Stuart’s parents moving from Ballater to Perthshire, Stuart and Jenny are hoping to move closer to them.

“We have very happy memories of our time here,” said Stuart.

“It’s been a great home, and we hope whoever moves in next loves it as much as we have.”
