As a home economics teacher it comes as no surprise that Wendy Gatt has a fabulous kitchen.
It is the hub of her home and where she has been cooking up a storm for the past decade.
Wendy, 40, who teaches at Peterhead Academy, said: “The big sell for me was when I walked into the sun lounge – then it was a done deal.
“Its such a great room, and has been where we spend all our time.”
Wendy and husband Wayne, 42, a waste recycling manager with TWMA were looking for a family home when they spotted this property.
And it has been a first home for their daughter Freya, now four.
The space on offer in Cabra Cottage, in St. Fergus is impressive. Potentially it could easily have four bedrooms, if you don’t need a dining room.
Of particular interest is the exposed brick wall with wood finishings and a stove with a slate hearth in the sun lounge.
The Gatts have put a lot of time into the property installing a kitchen and family bathroom.
A particularly quirky feature in the hallway is the recycled Canadian maple flooring which was first laid in the squash court at Peterhead Community Centre.
The front garden has been paved with a feature rockery which is well stocked with mature shrubs and plants. The rear garden is mainly laid to lawn with a designated children’s play area.
There is also a walled secret garden with a summer house.
Wendy, Wayne and Freya are moving back to Peterhead to be closer to both sets of Freya’s grandparents.
“This has been such a lovely home to us. We hope whoever moves in next, loves it as much as we have,” said Wendy.
