Euan provides litigation advice to clients in the retail, food and banking sectors throughout Scotland. He specialises in commercial & corporate and property; and corporate crime. A growing area of his practice is advising clients on reputation management.
Euan is a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in the Court of Session and the Supreme Court when it sits as the highest court of appeal in Scottish civil cases. He regularly represents clients in courts, arbitrations and mediations.
Euan has achieved a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) mediation accreditation and is the first and only Scottish lawyer to be listed on the Register of RICS Accredited Mediators.
Euan is an accredited commercial litigator who is ranked for Dispute Resolution and Real Estate Litigation by the leading legal directories. According to market commentators, he is a "sharp litigator".
Outside of the office, Euan tutors on the Civil Court Practice course on the Postgraduate Diploma at Edinburgh University; and recently became a dad for the second time.
Euan was responsible for the progression of all commercial property and residential lending litigation and recoveries work for UK Asset Resolution (Bradford Bingley, Northern Rock Asset Management, Mortgage Express) within Scotland. As UKAR is a public body the strategic advice provided to them needs to take cognisance of the sensitivities involved in raising insolvency proceedings.
Defending Pfizer in two test cases at the Inner House of the Court of Session relating to one of its heart drugs, which claimants allege cause heart attacks and strokes; the matter involves circa 80 litigants and claims currently stand at £30million in value.
Representing ScottishPower in a commercial agency action before the commercial court of the Court of Session (on-going).
In the course of 2012 and 2013, Euan provided litigation advice to the Administrators of Rangers Football Club. There were numerous court actions flowing from the administration and subsequent liquidation of the company.
