ROLE OF DEPARTMENT

• Work with clients across a variety of industries and business sectors to provide a broadly-based legal and business advisory service. 

• Provide a comprehensive range of commercial real estate services. 

JOB PURPOSE

• To contribute to the continued success and growth of the Commercial Real Estate team. 
• To service an existing client base through provision of first class, quick and commercial legal advice with emphasis on development work, urban regeneration and Landlord and Tenant matters. 
• Acting for national and international retailers and institutional landlords.
• General commercial property work and corporate support.

• To contribute to the overall growth and performance of the Team  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct own client files and assist other fee-earners and partners where requested 
• Draft, review and revise documents and compiling reports 
• Correspond with clients and other lawyers and professionals, including attending meetings 
• Advise clients and take their instructions 
• Negotiate with clients and other lawyers
• Completing and registering transactions at the Land Registry and where appropriate at Companies House and accounting to HMRC for SDLT
• Assist department in reaching fee targets 


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• LLB (England & Wales or dual qualified)

• Legal Practice Course / Diploma in Legal Practice 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Sound commercial property experience (England and Wales)

• Commercially aware and able to “drive deals”

KNOWLEDGE
Essential 
• Sound knowledge of English conveyancing, commercial landlord and tenant law and legal procedures
