ROLE OF DEPARTMENT
 

Aberdein Considine are looking for a talented Paralegal to join or growing Dispute Resolution team in Aberdeen. The successful candidate will join a team that is dynamic and supportive but also recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for the quality of the work undertaken for a range of clients across a variety of industries and business sectors.

The position will allow the opportunity for career progression for an individual who demonstrates a willingness and ability to maintain good client relationships, work collegiately with the wider team and firm, and to strive for the highest level of client service, with the use of technology where that can improve service levels and efficiencies.

 
JOB PURPOSE
  • To ensure clients are provided with the best possible advice and recommendations.
  • To secure the best possible outcome for clients.
  • To obtain and maintain a good reputation amongst clients.
  • To assist with promotion and management of Department and Firm.
  • To maximise fee income.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assisting solicitors and senior members of the team/department.
  • Advising clients on a variety of commercial debt recovery and litigation matters.
  • Managing a varied case load in a high paced environment.
  • Adhering to client Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintaining client expectations.
  • Negotiating settlements and achieving the best possible outcome for clients.
  • Drafting legal documents.
  • Meeting fee target consistently.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable
  • Registered paralegal qualification
  • English and Maths at higher level or above
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
  • Excellent communication, teamworking and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a high paced environment.
  • Team working.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
 
KNOWLEDGE
Desirable 
  • Knowledge of litigation and debt recovery matters.
  • Knowledge of Sheriff Court and Simple Procedure Rules.
 
APTITUDES
Essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamworking skills.
  • Strong business and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to offer practical advice to clients.
