Position Type: Full time / Permanent 

Aberdein Considine are looking for an experienced Mortgage Adviser to join our team in Aberdeen. The ideal candidate will provide whole of market mortgage and protection advice in a compliant manner as detailed in the firm’s compliance manual and procedures.. They will also ensure an outstanding client experience is delivered on every mortgage and protection case. The role will be based in Aberdeen however, 2 days a week will be based within our Stonehaven office. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the relevant FCA rules at all times
  • Adhere to the relevant compliance, TCF, T&C, financial crime (anti-money laundering, data security, anti-bribery, fraud and corruption) procedures of the firm at all times
  • Keep up to date with all relevant product, legislative and technical changes
  • Contact pre-booked appointments and potential clients in accordance with the firm’s business plan/supervisor’s guidance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure sufficient client information obtained and analyse information gathered
  • Undertake sufficient product and market research and ensure suitable recommendations are made on mortgages and protection.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is maintained.
  • Attain and maintain level of competence as required by the firm (CAS)
  • Maintain all standards of performance as required by the firm
  • Communicating with other professionals, such as estate agents, solicitors and valuers
  • Ensure relevant CPD is maintained and recorded accurately

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential
  • Full CEMAP (or equivalent)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a mortgage adviser
KNOWLEDGE
Essential
  • Whole of market mortgage and protection experience
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of compliance procedures including record keeping requirements.
APTITUDES

  • Unquestionable work ethic
  • A can, and will do, approach
  • Be articulate with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, in person, by telephone and in written form
  • Naturally organised and be able to work on your own as well as part of a team
OTHER

  • Ability and desire to travel to other offices in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire area (as per above will include 2 days at our Stonehaven office)
  • Appointments are pre-qualified for the adviser in this role
  • Full administrative support is provided and the role holder will have a dedicated Case Manager to work alongside them.
