Senior Solicitor
Full Time/ Permanent
Glasgow
Representing major banking and lender clients in a variety of debt recovery and dispute resolution matters including secured debt recoveries, financial disputes, fraud, title and security rectification, professional negligence, tenancy disputes and unsecured debt recoveries (personal and business)
·To ensure clients are provided with the best possible advice and recommendations.
·To secure the best possible outcome for clients.
·To maximise fee income.
·To build a strong relationship with clients.
·Managing a significant caseload for key financial services clients
·Proactively running a varied litigation caseload emanating from lender clients in connection with mortgage, personal and business lending
·Assisting partners on key projects for lender clients
·Providing clients with strategic and commercial advice
·Negotiating settlements and achieving the best possible outcome for clients.
·Representing clients in a variety of court hearings and settlement meetings.
·Meet time recording and fee targets.
·Increase visibility of LSPG by producing briefing notes when required.
·Drafting court papers and legal documents.
·Meeting fee target consistently.
·Mentoring and supporting solicitors, trainee solicitors and paralegals in the department
·Promoting the Department and the Firm through Business Development.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• LLB, Diploma in Legal Practice
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
•Minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
•Technical excellence with secured and/or unsecured debt recovery matters
•Experience of title rectification, property litigation and/or a good understanding of conveyancing practice is desirable
•Appearance at Sheriff Court
•Experience of Court of Session matters
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to establish strong working relationships with clients
•Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a pressurised environment.
•Team working.
•Strong IT skills.
•Ability to meet strict deadlines.
KNOWLEDGE
•Excellent knowledge of secured debt recovery law and practice
•Good knowledge of Sheriff Court and Court of Session practice and rules.
•An understanding of the regulatory landscape in which our clients operate
