What does your day-to-day role look like?
First things first - a cup of tea! I’d start by checking my diary and sorting through emails. Prep for any valuations - I could be anywhere from New Deer to Newburgh so I like to plan my day. I’d return to the office, issue the client with sales evidence to support their valuation and send their quotes before before getting started on any files I have ongoing. Typically these are in the process of getting ready to go on the market so I’d organise photos, home report, type the schedule and then usually finish off the day with client contact. When an offer comes in for one of my clients, I’d negotiate this with them to get the best possible deal.
Seek advice from an independent financial advisor. We have a range of in-house mortgage advisors who will be able to get you access to exclusive rates that aren’t available from most high street brokers. For selling, be prepared to perhaps have to do a bit of tidying up before going on the market. Things like giving rooms a fresh coat of paint and de-cluttering can make such a huge difference to your photos and make the property more appealing to buyers.
What is the most rewarding part of your role?
It’s hard to pick just one! Id say seeing how happy and appreciative clients are when you’re successful in helping them sell and buy their dream home. And the relationship that you build with your clients and being a part of their journey from start to finish is very rewarding too.
What do you enjoy doing in your time out with work?
A typical evening for me would be walking my dog, Charlie or meeting my friends for a catch up. I also run a community called The Girls Chat which keeps me super busy organising our monthly events and group walks.
