Aberdein Considine continues growth with major investment

Aberdein Considine has accelerated its growth plans after announcing a significant investment in further expansion across Scotland.

The business has also continued to strengthen its senior legal capability with the appointment of two new partners in its Family Law team.

April Campbell, a former Associate at Jeffrey Aitken, has joined the firm as Partner to spearhead the firm’s matrimonial and family law operation in Stirling and Glasgow.

Karl Brown, a founding Partner of Aberdeen legal business Murray & Brown, has moved to Aberdein Considine’s family law team in the Granite City.

And with funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland, the business taken over two-storey accommodation in the Stirling’s central Port Street.

The office is the first of the firm’s ‘new generation’ of high street premises, blending estate agency, legal and independent financial services.

Managing Partner Jacqueline Law said:

“Our expansion in Stirling underlines our commitment to the high street, where we now have a more diverse range of expertise on offer than ever before.

“The way that people choose a professional adviser is changing, particularly in estate agency, where some people have been lured by a veil of low fixed fees.

“We truly believe that it is in the public’s best interest to deal with expert local professionals who can offer market knowledge together with strong digital marketing.”

The new Stirling office will be led by the firm’s Stirling Partners, Anthony Quin and Philip Anderson, who both joined Aberdein Considine following its 2014 merger with Muirhead Buchanan.

The firm has also made a number of senior appointments to help further establish it in the Forth Valley area.

Former Aitken Nairn Partner Phil Harris is the fourth senior appointment and has joined the business as an Associate. He will be based in Stirling helping clients buy and sell property.

Jamie Smith, relationship manager for Royal Bank of Scotland, said:

“Aberdein Considine’s Port Street office will add to the legal firm’s already significant offering to businesses, families and individuals, across Scotland.

“Royal Bank of Scotland’s funding will help support development of the new office as the firm looks to grow its presence in Stirling and the central belt.”

Aberdein Considine offers property, legal and financial services to private and commercial clients across Scotland. Its clients include global banking giants Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group and Santander, as well high street retailers including Greggs PLC and Rox.

Sixteen of its lawyers are recommended in the recent Legal 500 guide, which ranked the firm as a leading player in the Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, Commercial Real Estate, Debt Recovery and Family Law sectors.
